In 1999, she achieved her first breakthrough in the role of a part of a supporting actress in Cruel Intentions. She was also famous for playing Tracy Flick as Election's black comedy. Elle Woods, a comedy comedy (2001) and its sequel in 2003, earned her more recognition. She also appeared in Sweet Home Alabama (2002) and Sweet Home Alabama, a romantic comedy. She won the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Limited Series for the very first time. She also directed the film adaptations of Gone Girl (2014) and Where the Crawdads Sing (2022).Witherspoon also owns a clothing business, Draper James, and she is involved in women's and children's advocacy organizations. She is a part of the Children's Defense Fund's board and has been named Global Ambassador of Avon Products in 2007. In that role, she also serves as chair honorary of Avon Foundation's charitable foundation that is dedicated to women's issues.
