Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US. She is a writer from Greece, a syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington has worked as a journalist, TV personality, philanthropist and author for over ten years. Her role also includes being the owner of The Huffington Post, an independent, liberal online newsmagazine. Born in Greece and moved to England at the age of sixteen. At Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA of Economics. The infamous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first time as president, and she held it when she was 21. Following graduation, she left her mark as a conservative syndicated columnist and, with the launching of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched an online voice platform that provided critical views about the current political climate. Her celebrity status helped her to get a number of prominent contributors to publish their thoughts on politics news and culture. Arianna first gained notoriety in 2003 as she stood for California's recall election, replacing then Governor Davis. The project she headed was a Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. She was named one of the Most Popular Women in Media in 2009 by Forbes in 2009 and was awarded the 12th place in this list. The same year, the Guardian named her on the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her president of the media group that also includes additional AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos was a daughter of Konstantinos an advisor to management and a journalist. While she enjoyed a strong relationship with both her father and mother but it was their connection which shaped her. At a young age she showed the qualities of a leader and is a household name. She moved to England at 16, to pursue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined Cambridge Union, a college debate club. Being the third woman president, and also the first foreigner she held the position of head of the Cambridge Union. In 1972 she received an education in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a columnist critic and an anchor on TV. Additionally, she starred alongside Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with his editing assistance.
