Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist as well as a businessperson. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington has been an actor, journalist writer, television philanthropist and author for more than 10 years. She is also the proprietor of The Huffington Post, an free-of-cost online newsmagazine. Originating from Greece Arianna Huffington came to England together with her family around 16 years old. When she attended Cambridge University she earned a MA diploma in Economics. She was the first person non-UK to become the president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. She became a conservative syndicated writer after graduation and when The Huffington Post launched a year afterwards, she was able to create an online platform to voice opinions that gave criticisms of the political landscape. The fame of Arianna brought in a variety of famous contributors who shared their opinions on news, politics and culture. Arianna rose to fame in 2003 after she decided to run as an independent presidential candidate during the California recall election, to take over the then governor Davis. Apart from this she also was the leader of a Detroit project that promoted fuel efficient cars. She was listed as 12th in Forbes' ranking of the most influential women in media. In the same year, Guardian listed her among the top 100 figures in media. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and the post was made president by the media company. It included a variety of AOL products at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli was the youngest daughter of Konstantinos journalist father who also works as a management consultant. Although she was close to her father, it was her relationship with her mother that formed her entire life. Through her early time, she showed abilities to lead, and for this are still in high demand. Her move to England came at 16 to continue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. In her time at college, she belonged to the Cambridge Union debating group where she was elected the first woman and the only president from outside the country.
